Happy Birthday, Arlene…From the Girls
Today’s random scan is this delightful birthday card from 1962. This was part of a paper ephemera bundle from one of my favorite local thrift stores. I tend to buy oodles of paper that I think will be grat for collage craft, but then I can’t bring myself to chop them up. These girls are just too good. Happy Pride!
I love the names:
Dolores
Jennette
Adele
Marcella
Frances
Ceil [?]
Jean
Cora Mae
Emma
Eleanor
Roberta
Judy
Gert
Sue
Evelyn and
Jill
Based on the other cards that came with this bundle, I think the recipient’s name was Arlene. Happy birthday, Arlene!
What do you think brought these 17 girls with great senses of humor together in 1962? Your guess is as good as mine. But I might just have to write a short story about them.
The very last photo of this slide is how the paper is open. There’s probably nothing stopping you from printing that at home and folding it accordingly for a mostly free and completely hilarious greeting card.
