What kind of vendors are accepted?
The word “indie” in the event name means we are accepting of a very broad group of vendors. Virtually any local artist or small business in the area should be encouraged to apply.
What kind of vendors are not accepted?
We do not accept vendors who sell weapons, culturally inappropriate, racially insensitive or offensive items, graphic, violent, nude/lewd content, auto parts or machinery, multi-level marketing businesses, or ‘yard sale’ types of resale items, and the like.
If you’re unsure the Indie Market is the right fit, send an email and ask!
I’m local and applied, but I wasn’t invited to participate at a show. Why not?
There are a lot of reasons why someone may not be right for a particular show but the biggest reason will be space and a judgment on how successful a business will be for our target demographics. You’re amazing, so please don’t take it personally or let it discourage you from applying for future markets or other more appropriate markets for your clientele in our area!
Will there be vendors selling similar items as me?
You will most likely not be the only vendor in your category (candles, prints, pottery, vintage, etc). This is a curated and mapped event, meaning we may have multiple candlemakers, jewelry makers, or bath and body works vendors, etc selling completely different styles of products and in different areas of the market.
So I’ll be competing with other businesses?
NO. We do not view one another as competition at the Indie Market. Vendors in similar categories should be viewed as community, not competition—if you do not agree, the Indie market is not the right event for you. Any vendor causing drama or division for any reason will be asked to leave and will not be asked to return.
Why ?
I believe in community over competition—there is plenty of business to go around, and not everyone likes the same exact thing. We will always offer our community options, variety and choice to give them the most satisfying market experience. Vendors within your category should be viewed as an asset and opportunity to network and collaborate! The world is better when we work together and support one another.
I’ve already done a show, can I apply to vend at another?
Of course you can, and I absolutely love to see folks wanting to come back! I welcome any previous vendor who had a good time at the Indie Market to apply to vend again at future markets.
If I’ve already been a vendor, is that a guarantee that I’ll be invited to vend at future events?
No spot is guaranteed, although we make every effort to accommodate as many creatives as possible.
Do you accept food or beverage trucks?
In some cases, yes. Please contact me directly.
